Purpose Chipping root and tuber crops; Cassava, Yam, Potato, Sweet Potato and also Plantain
Output Up to 200 Kg per hour
Target client Household & Small-scale commercial processing
Advantage Efficient cutting even with very fibrous roots,
Eliminates de-fibering operation,
Produces uniform sizes of chips with minimum stumps,
Lightweight and movable,
Simple to operate,
Resulting chips dries and/or ferment faster, thus improving product quality and capacity
Disadvantage Dics are expensive and difficult to obtain(30-50 US$ fob Nigeria),
Seat and size of machine too low for most people, (comment made by PH Uganda)
Cost US$ 150
Market potential / Status Model needs egronomical improvments (comments made by users in Uganda)
