Application Potential Multi-Purpose Batch type press for commercial scale operation,
Dewatering Cassava pulp for 'Gari',
Palm Oil extraction
Loading capacity 200 to 350 kg, or up to 5 bags per batch
Rate of dewatering Pulp initial moisture of 70-80% reduced to 40-50% in 4 hours
Oil Extraction Rate 1.5 Liter per kg; or 300 liter per batch
Target client Small-scale commercial user
Advantage Improves compressive force with less strain to press structural frame,
Adjustable press bar allows varying loading capacity,
Movable; base construction needs no special footing design,
Tiltable for ease of cleaning and draining; or for collection of expelled water or oil
Disadvantage Screws can be difficult to obtain and expensive
Repair and Maintenance Washing,
Greasing screws
Cost US$ 250-300 depending on costs of srews (Uganda)
Market potential / Status Dependent upon grater sales, 8 sold, more in production (Uganda)
